Description

This project aims at designing and improve on the transaction mechanism in SCOOP. Support for transactions have first been proposed for SCOOP by Eugster and Vaucouleur. This project aims at an implementation as well as a significant improvement on the concepts previously detailed. In particular, nested transactions as well as compensations will be considered in the thesis.

Title:
Design and implementation of a run-time mechanism for deadlock detection in SCOOP

Description

The main purpose of the project is the study of state-of-the-art techniques for run-time deadlock detection and their application to SCOOP. We design and implement a suitable deadlock detection algorithm as part of the SCOOPLI library. This project is part of the efforts to provide a satisfactory solution to the problem of deadlock prevention, avoidance, detection, and resolution in SCOOP.
