Traffic 3.1 - Designing Suitable Examples
Since winter semester 2003 the members of the Chair of Software Engineering take a novel approach to teaching introductory programming for their first semester computer science students. The approach (called the Inverted Curriculum) heavily relies on a software system - Traffic - that has been specially developed for this purpose. The software is accompanied by a textbook called A Touch of Class containing illustrative examples. The subject of this semester thesis is to replace existing or find new examples which can be implemented using Traffic. The challenge is to collect core concepts and define suitable examples using existing code or develop new parts for Traffic.
